It is a rare sight to see these tiny creatures making their first journey out of the sand, down the beach and then through the waves, especially on Takwa where the uninterrupted Indian Ocean swell crashes against the steep beach. This moment was captured during the shooting of ‘The Lamu Archipelago’, a film based around the Lamu Marine Conservation Trust; it was one of the last sequences to film, taking over 6 months and many trips to hatchings along this beach.
