I lived in Samburu for a few months and had the honour to spend time with the warriors of the Samburu. This flamboyant tribe are still very much connected to their ancestral roots. These young warriors were gearing up for a wedding ceremony, the mood was intense and electric. The singing and chants echoed in the surrounding hills and it is an evening I will never forget. I took this image from ground level as it accentuates the subject and fully shows off the magnificence’s of these warriors.
I love how this image feels as if you are peeking into something lost in time, maybe due to the blurred foreground making you feel further away then you actually are.
